The Industrial Accelerator program is designed for industrial electricity users directly connected to the IESO controlled grid. Check your Firm’s Eligibility.
The key account managers are ready to discuss project opportunities at your facilities. Funded projects must involve the installation of an efficiency measure that reduces electricity use. For more information contact your Key Account Manager.
Industrial Accelerator provides funding for two levels of engineering studies to identify and investigate energy-efficiency projects: preliminary engineering studies and detailed engineering studies. The studies are the first step in receiving final project incentive funding approval and must demonstrate to decision-makers that a project meets program criteria. The exception is micro-projects, for which the application forms will capture the necessary project information.
Submitting a preliminary engineering study is optional and offers firms the opportunity to define projects and specifications as input to a detailed engineering study. Project funding approval follows the successful review of a detailed engineering study. More»

Step 2. Application and Review
Once the detailed engineering study is final, it should be attached to a Project Incentive Application for submission to the Ontario Power Authority. The project review and a prepared measurement and verification plan for your project will be sent to you. Once the review is completed, your firm will receive an acceptance notice, to be followed with an offer notice and the incentive agreement documentation. More»

Step 3. Implement efficiency Project
Projects must be completed within two years of signing a Project Incentive Agreement. Once the project is in operation, regularly scheduled measurement and verification reports must be completed and submitted. Incentive funds will be paid out according to your project incentive agreement. More»
A preliminary engineering study is a look at individual industrial systems and opportunities to identify and improve process efficiency with activities and measures that can reduce electricity use.
The study must report the electricity consumption of the subject industrial system and identify activities and savings measures that could reduce electricity use.
A detailed engineering study is a comprehensive project analysis to support decisions to invest capital in process efficiency improvements capable of reducing electricity use.
The study must report the results of the technical, financial, and economic analyses of the proposed system.
The Ontario Power Authority will review the incentive application prior to the signing of a Project Incentive Agreement .
